Fraud Alert !!!!
The Dream Factory appreciates all of the generous individuals and businesses that make financial and in-kind contributions to our organization to make dreams come true for critically and chronically ill children.
That is why it is distressing to learn that there are individuals who take advantage of you by claiming to be a part of our all-volunteer organization. One such individual, who goes by the name of James Marsden, claims to be a volunteer of The Dream Factory of Southern California, and goes so far as to use the home address of a legitimate volunteer as a contact point, although all of his requests are generated via email and cell phone calls. Every individual wishing to volunteer services to our organization is required to complete a thorough, national background check prior to any involvement. Obviously, this individual, whose real identity is known to us, has not done so.
His current ruse is to request tickets, items and star treatment for an young man he calls Paul Anthony, who he claims is suffering from an inoperable brain tumor. This imposter tells quite a sympathetic tale, and has taken advantage of numerous entities with his creative tales.
Please do not make contributions of any type to James Marsden – or any individual who claims to be representing our organization without checking with our National Headquarters.
